Human Capital
Health, education, skills, experience, creativity, and people's capacity to contribute and prosper.
Collective Capital believes we should build the foundations of prosperity together so people are free to prosper individually.
Shared Foundations.
Maintain what works. Repair what’s broken. Build what’s missing. Leave more than we inherited.
A country’s real wealth includes the people, systems, knowledge, institutions, and natural resources that make productive life possible.
Health, education, skills, experience, creativity, and people's capacity to contribute and prosper.
Land, soil, water, forests, biodiversity, ecosystems, climate stability, and natural resources.
Roads, bridges, housing, transit, schools, utilities, broadband, energy systems, and other built infrastructure.
Science, research, accumulated knowledge, technology, intellectual property, data, and AI.
Families, communities, civic participation, cooperation, relationships, and social trust.
Democratic institutions, laws, courts, competent government, public agencies, and institutional trust.
Businesses, farms, factories, equipment, tools, supply chains, entrepreneurship, and the capacity to produce goods and services.
Savings, investments, retirement assets, credit, public finances, and the financial resources available for future investment.
Every generation inherits systems, institutions, knowledge, infrastructure, communities, and natural resources it did not build. Our responsibility is to maintain them, improve them, and pass them forward stronger.
Stewardship is not preservation for its own sake. We should invest continuously in people, infrastructure, science, technology, communities, and productive capacity so each generation inherits greater opportunity than the one before it.
The purpose of strong shared foundations is not greater control over individual lives. It is greater freedom: the freedom to work, create, start businesses, own property, build wealth, raise families, take risks, and pursue a meaningful life.
Some problems need action now. Others require decades of consistent investment. The platform is organized around the timescale of the work.
Defend voting rights, reproductive freedom, equal citizenship, civil liberties, privacy, and accountable democratic institutions.
Protect organizing and collective bargaining, fight wage theft, strengthen labor standards, and ensure workers share in productivity gains.
Restore strong protections for air, water, soil, wetlands, forests, ecosystems, and the natural capital future generations depend on.
Strengthen public education, food security, scientific research, public health, responsible AI development, and the foundations of human capacity.
Modernize roads, bridges, water, public buildings, broadband, transportation, and the electrical grid for the next fifty years.
Build Medicare for All and make public community colleges, trade schools, and state universities tuition-free.
Expand generation, storage, transmission, distributed solar, household energy infrastructure, and transportation electrification.
Expand housing, employee ownership, profit sharing, small business, local productive capacity, and access to wealth creation.
Build high-speed rail, a national energy supergrid, modern nuclear power, resilient communities, and century-scale infrastructure planning.
Restore forests, rivers, wetlands, prairies, watersheds, wildlife corridors, food systems, and water infrastructure at continental scale.
Create public AI and computing infrastructure, a national knowledge commons, and lifelong access to education and retraining.
Build a national public investment fund, universal capital endowments, and a generational strategy to make persistent poverty something people can escape rather than inherit.
Imagine a country where clean water, reliable energy, healthcare, education, resilient infrastructure, competitive markets, and recoverable failure are simply background systems that work.
This is an early public framework. The next step is discussion, criticism, refinement, and finding people who want to build something durable together.
